Sunday 16th July- London Panoramic Tour And Welcome Dinner

Dinner

You will apparate with a host of other fans to converge at a special hand-picked, centrally located, four star London hotel at 3pm to start your magical adventure.

Your professional London Blue Badge Guide will take you on a sightseeing tour of London, seeing all the major sights which were featured in the Harry Potter films, including: Leadenhall Market, The Millennium footbridge, Trafalgar Square, Big Ben and The Houses of Parliament, Whitehall, Piccadilly Circus, and much more!

That evening, you’ll be treated to a magical welcome dinner – worthy of wizards.

Monday 17th July Leavesden Studios- The making of Harry Potter

Enjoy a proper complimentary English breakfast at our hotel before we venture out to the place where the real magic took place – Warner Bros Studios – The Making of Harry Potter.

Here you will see everything… from the elaborate sets used during filming, to the props, artwork and models. You will even see the real Hogwarts Express! We will give you plenty of time to be able to enjoy this amazing experience.

We return to London for the afternoon, giving you free time to enjoy the sights of London. You might choose to visit The Tower of London and see the Crown Jewels, or visit the British Museum to see the incredible artifacts from all over the world including such delights as the Rosetta Stone and the Parthenon Sculptures, not to mention the mummies… and 5500 year old man we call, “Ginger”.

You also have the evening free to visit the theatre or have a fantastic meal.

Tuesday 18th July Stonehenge, Lacock, Oxford

Enjoy a complimentary breakfast and prepare for a full day of adventure! We will set off early this morning to visit Stonehenge (Although this was not featured in Harry Potter, it is a mystical place and one of the most famous prehistoric sights in the world which fans have said they’d like to see!) Stonehenge has a history spanning 4500 years and is an Unesco World Heritage site. This stone circle is shrouded in mystery, surrounded by burial mounds of the ancient Beaker People, it is a place that inspires wonder and questions. Who were the builders? How did they build it? What was its purpose…?

After experiencing Stonehenge, we will visit Lacock, noted as one of the most beautiful villages in England, and the site used as a location for an array of films including Harry Potter! We will visit Lacock Abbey to see Snape’s potions classroom. We continue on to visit “the city of dreaming spires”, Oxford. Oxford is famed for having the oldest university in Britain and two of the colleges were used for filming. You’ll get to visit Christ Church which was featured in Harry Potter and the Philosophers Stone. Stand on very steps where young wizards were welcomed as they prepared for wizarding school. See the dining room that was the inspiration for Hogwarts dining room (then reconstructed at Leavesden Studios), and New College which was featured in Goblet of Fire!

We return to London by 6pm for you to have time at your leisure for dinner and any additional sightseeing you may want to do in the evening in London before we head out for an unparalleled immersive wizarding adventure.

Wednesday 19th July – Train to York, Goathland Railway Station, Durham Cathedral, Lumley Castle

Dinner

This morning you will head to Kings Cross station to take a train to York.

On arrival in York our coach will take us to see “Hogsmead” train station (Goathland, to Muggles).

We then head to Durham Cathedral where you will see the filming location for McGonagal’s classroom and the cloisters where many a scene was filmed.

We will then continue our journey to Lumley Castle where you will stay for two nights.

(Thursday, July 20th)

Lumley-Castle-Hotel-photos-ExteriorAdventure awaits you at every turn once you’ve arrived at Lumley Castle. From the moment you step onto the grounds – you’ll realize you’re in your very own wizarding world. Welcome to the Lumley School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.

Check in to your fabulous well-appointed wizarding accommodations and take in a moment to take in the grounds. On your first evening, you’ll be treated to a special welcoming banquet .

During your time at school, all students will expected to attend magical wizarding lessons such as potions, herbology and divination and you’ll have to solemnly swear to be up to no good for the duration of your stay! You’ll play your very own version of land-based wizarding game and many other magical activities.

There have been rumors that dark lords may try once again to take over the school…but fear not! Your teachers will be with you to solve special clues and challenges to keep the dark lord from running amuck over the course of your stay at the school.

It’s the perfect year to be attending school – because it’s time for the Annual Lumley Wizarding Tournament – and the ministry has decreed that all students – regardless of age – can participate in the tournament. What fun and adventure we’ll have!

Uniforms are optional, but greatly encouraged!

You’ll be treated to breakfast, lunch and a magical dinner on Thursday at Lumley.

Friday 21st July – Alnwick Castle /Edinburgh

After defeating the dark lord and graduating from the Lumley School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, everyone will enjoy a hearty and well-deserved proper breakfast before heading to Edinburgh.

You’ll board your coach and travel to Alnwick Castle, where the world was introduced to broomstick lessons.

We continue our journey along the coastal road to Edinburgh. It was in Edinburgh that JK Rowling started to write Harry Potter and where she finished her final book of this series.

Friday evening, you may chose to join us for optional “Scottish Evening” which includes music, dancing and dinner or you can take in Edinburgh that evening at your own leisure.

Saturday 22nd July Edinburgh walking tour

After enjoying a complimentary breakfast, you’ll get to take walking tour of Edinburgh which includes seeing The Royal Mile, The Elephant House Cafe where JK spent much of her time writing the first book, the cemetery which features some familiar names, ending with a guided tour of Edinburgh Castle.

You have free time to enjoy the sights of Edinburgh this afternoon.

That evening, you’ll be treated to a farewell dinner – to share time with your family and new-found friends.

Sunday 23rd July
Breakfast

Breakfast will be served before you depart to return home or as you prepare to continue your HP Fan Tour on a special Highlands Extension tour.

Sunday 23rd July Edinburgh to Highlands

Your adventure continues to the Highlands of Scotland. Today you will travel from Edinburgh to Fort William. The drive will take you past Stirling, Doune Castle where an array of filming has taken place including Monty Python (coconuts), Game of Thrones and Outlander, through the Trossachs (home of Rob Roy McGreggor) and onto Fort William. You will also see where Hagrid’s hut was erected for filming .

You’ll be staying in a lovely centrally-located Fort William Dinner Bed & Breakfast for two nights. Breakfast and dinner will be included on this special day in the Highlands.

Monday 24th July – Jacobite Steam Train
Breakfast, Dinner
After a hearty breakfast, you will take the amazing Jacobite Steam train from Fort William to Mallaig. This incredible journey is the route used by the Hogwarts Express and goes over the Glenfinnan Viaduct. Note – there should not be any blue Ford Anglia cars on the track! When you arrive in Mallaig you have some time to get yourself some lunch at this lovely fishing village. We highly recommend trying the fish and chips here.

We will drive back to Fort William stopping at Glenfinnan for a ground eye view of the Viaduct and and Loch Sheil to see the backdrop for that very famous wizarding school we love…and where the students arrived on their enchanted boats. That evening, you’ll be treated to a dinner in Fort William.

Tuesday 25th July – Steall Falls Hike / Edinburgh

After breakfast, you’re invited to take a hike to Steall Falls – a beautiful, but challenging hike to where the “Tri-Wizard Tournament” was filmed. Please note that this is a challenging hike and does not include any paved walkways. Walking boots, a bottle of water, and a waterproof are essential. This is an included optional excursion and a level of fitness is required.
For those who choose not to take the hike to Steall Falls, you will have free time to enjoy Fort William.

In the afternoon we will return to Edinburgh for our final farewell dinner.

After a complimentary breakfast, you’ll depart for home taking back magical memories of your amazing wizarding adventure.
